Integrating distribution operations

Wavin UK had recently acquired Hepworth Building Products, and was developing its strategy for integrating the operations of the two businesses, including distribution. Our consultants used distribution modelling software to develop a number of strategic options taking into account a planned reconfiguration of the manufacturing network and commercial considerations for the distribution network. Combined with a detailed qualitative analysis, an optimum solution was then designed which achieved a cost reduction of around 25% compared to the current operations and provided a robust foundation for subsequent development of the distribution network.
